We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our Peabody, MA regional office.
The Senior Accountant provides critical support to our Divisional Controller and assists with creating continuing improvement and extending best practices throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have at least five years combined public and industry accounting experience. The job requires strong technical accounting understanding and analytical abilities. Experience with SOX compliance, budgeting processes and internal controls is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
Assists with the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and analyses as well as operating data and special reports as required.
Responsible for the timely reconciliation of specified balance sheet accounts.
Assists with the oversight of the accounting department.
Assists with sales tax, property tax and other tax compliance.
Assists with compilation of the annual budget package.
Provides support for operational and financial branch reviews.
Aids with control of all of the region's sales and purchase orders to ensure conformity to established policies and procedures.
Assist with preparation of the region's reports to government agencies.
Assists with the region's compliance with company policies and procedures and the effective operation of internal controls.
Supports branch inquiries and researches accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial inquires to provide understanding to branch and regional managers.
Assists with preparation of financial reports for Regional Vice President, Executive Vice President and Corporate Management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (strongly preferred but not required).
Minimum of five years relevant experience.
Proficiency with MS Office products and an advanced understanding of Excel.
Knowledge of Mincron and Prophix is a plus,
Willing to travel (5% max, local only)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
